hell yes!Your going to have your baby within the next 2 weeks. The baby is sliding naturally down into the birth canal to "assume the birthing position" This puts a lot of pressure on some womens lower back, and you might very well prepare yourself to have an epidural, or your in for some GRUELLY back labor, and that is HELL. If it is BAD pain, check and make sure the baby isn't sliding into position breech.

Try and stand and sit well. Don't slump. When you stand don't let your belly just push straight out and your back curve. This does not help. When you sleep lie on your side, get a hard pillow and put it either underneath you belly OR have your lower leg sraight and bend your upper leg to rest on it. This stops the weight of your belly curving your hips round and pulling at your lower back. Do not carry heavy things. Bend at the knees to pick things up. Once you have had the baby try to strengthen your tummy muscles (but not for a month or two). Good luck, there are all sorts of random aches that do pass! Look after your back, I had a bad one between kids and it was awful. It did go away when I made a point of doing all the above!

I'm 37 weeks and I have my contractions back there every ten mins. I would describe it as a period in my back. LOL, Yeah you should call and see what they say about it. They say that if you can get up and walk or take a shower and the pain lessens/diminishes then it's braxton hicks but that if it's a constant thing and gets worse with walking, etc that they're real. You may be experiencing a bit of contractions then.

hey.. you shouldnt worry, it just sounds like your body is gearing up to go into labour. I had the same thing although mine was in my back and my legs and tummy. Its a constant ache like period pain aching kind of. very tiring. I had that for about 4 weeks before my baby came and i was dilated 3-4cms before i went into actual labour. So it is good in a way because you are slowly doing some of your work now instead of all of it when the labour hits which could mean days. My labour was only about 8hours, but it does then go straight into full on contractions because you are dilated more. Goodluck!

i personally suffered the pain you describe with my first pregnancy , thankfully the last one was not at all like it ,best thing for you to do is rest asmuch as possible,(and maybe ask hubby to give you a backrub when he can) and to realise when that lil one arrives in 5 weeks or so it will be entirely gone :)
hope this helps
