Some people say yes, some people say no...
As long as you aren't replacing feedings with water and the water is boiled and cooled this should be fine. (I wouldn't recommend water between feedings though just for the sake of giving it, at least not without consulting your baby's doctor first.)
Personally, I held off much longer than this to give my baby water, (till about 6-months when she was constantly gagging and vomiting her solids because of a small esophagus condition that she was born with) but my husband's Grandma asked me pretty much every time we visited if my daughter could have some water. (This was common practise when she had kids.)
FYI - my daughter had TONS of hiccups, before she was born and after, and believe it or not according to my ped. and several mommies I know hiccups aren't as bothersome to babies as they are to adults.
Let your baby be your guide though. Follow your instincts. If he seems troubled by hiccups a bit of water won't likely hurt.
Good luck & enjoy your baby!!

Yes I hear it's perfectly fine to give your son water in between meals to curb his hunger and stop hiccups. If it helps him get rid of his hiccups there is no harm in it. As for in between meals some doctors recommend giving a really hungry baby a little bit of water to curb there hunger.Just as long as they eat on a normal schedule otherwise which is every 3-4 hours if formula fed and every 2-3 hours if breast fed. Just as long as the water is either baby water with fluoride or tap water that has been boiled. Tap water has high levels of lead in it that can be harmful to babies.

I have the opposite opinion as everyone else.
IMHO water is not good for a baby that young because it takes away from the amount of nurishment he needs.
formula and breastmilk provide all the liquids the baby needs until he is a few months older.
babies need milk fat for their brains to develop.
but different doctors will tell you different things.
if you do decide to give water, use distilled water.
it's the cleanest.

It feels like your kitten has a sprain and it really is going to take some days to recuperate so attempt to diminish her activities besides the actual shown reality that i recognize it really is next to no longer conceivable! If I easily have the time line proper - she harm herself very last evening, spoke of the vet at present yet hasn't pooped yet at present. it truly is not any longer too lengthy devoid of going #2 and the medication would slow her equipment down somewhat. I highly recommend you call the vet to get regulations on what to assume on your cat's restoration and what issues might want to factor obtainable's a mission. From what you stated, i imagine your cat is okay today and also you do not prefer to rigidity, yet your vet has checked her out, is conscious the volume of the harm and is the perfect man or woman to allow you to recognize what to look ahead to.

it is okay, but the reason most docs don't want you to is that it fills up their tiny tummy so they're not hungry for the nutrients they need in their milk meals. if it's just a couple sips between meals, that's okay. but don't give lots of water, they need something of substance. and hiccups don't hurt anything, just annoying.

I used to give my children water with a little Karo syrup in it and it never did hurt them, I also used to give them warm water with a piece of peppermint candy in it if they had an upset tummy. If he is hungry between meals, put a teaspoon of baby rice cereal in either formula(unless you are breast feeding) or warm water w/ just a touch of sugar or Karo and this should make him more satisfied.
My mom fed us kids some mashed potatoes when we were tiny and she continues with her grandkids and great-grandkids and we are all alive and in pretty good health.

If the human body was broken down it would be 80% water. It will be fine, it will probably make him a healthy baby. But just incase (because I'm not a doctor) you should ring up and ask one. Because I don't want to be responcible for making baby sick.

Water is just fine. And a healthy appetite is a good thing. Enjoy him, because tomorrow he'll be asking to borrow the car!
