Ginger can really help. Try ginger ale or ginger cookies. There is candied ginger, or just suck a piece of raw ginger root. When I was pregnant and had this problem, I could only tolerate dry crackers for much of the day. I didn't know about ginger then, so I didn't try it. If your wife wants to add a half teaspoon three times a day to her ginger ale (or whatever), she should speak to her doctor first. There is also ginger essential oil which can be used on the skin and absorbed that way, but check with your doctor and use the tiniest amount. Essential oils are very potent. Usually you put drop of essential oil in a bit of massage oil or even olive oil and then apply it. I hope she's better soon. That sort of sickness usually just stops and you can (try) to forget you ever had it.
I just checked in my Herbal PDR. It says that you should never take ginger if you have gallbladder problems, so just make sure you check with your doctor.

My first two pregnancies I lost so much weight due to sickness that at about 6 months pregnant, i was back at my original weight before pregnancy. I was fine and my baby's were fine. The first one ended up weighing 8lb 9oz and the second was 8lb 13oz. the third was even bigger, but that one doesn't apply here.
My advice is for her to never let her stomach get empty, it is when the food hits the empty stomach that she'll get sickest. Crackers and water worked best (and sometimes steak fries) for me but I still got sick.
She should be seeing a doctor on a regular basis, to make sure that she and the baby are healthy. Plus she should probably take prenatal vitamins to ensure proper nutrition.
She should be okay, but anytime that you are concerned it doesn't hurt to seek the advice of a doctor, not to mention that it should make you worry less.
Congratulations and good luck!

First of all ask her doc. for advice... you can never be to careful when your pregnant!!!!!! Second with my second son i got pregnant at 198lbs. and when i give birth i wieghed 197lbs. Its not bad in all situations to lose wieght, as long as she has the extra wieght to lose! Also the infant with take nutrients anywhere they can get them... So the nutrient she absorbs with the little time the foods in her body the baby will get that!!!! So most cases its ok , the baby will get enough nutrient, BUT if she isnt absorbing enough for the both of them she could get ill like anemia, and so on!!! That is why i say ask the doc. theyll know!!!! But most cases everything is ok, so dont worry until you talk to a doc!!! Goodluck and enjoy your new bundle of joy!!!! Oh yeah the early months of pregnancy are known to cause wieght lose and vomiting!!! I hope this helps you!!!:)

Feeling nauseated and vomits thereafter are pretty normal during the first trimester of pregnancy. This is due to the increase levels of hormones (estrogen and progesteron) in the blood. Another probable causes are decreased gastric emptying with resultant gastric distention, relaxation of lower esophageal sphincter from increased gastric pressure, hypoglycemia (decrease levels of glucose/sugar in the blood), and anxiety. Interventions for this would simply be eating small amounts of carbohydrate rich foods (e.g., crackers) before rising in the morning. If she is nauseated, don't force fluids because this will further aggravate the problem. Instead, have frequent small meals, avoid coffee/tea/spicy foods and limitation of high-fat foods.
