Yes. A country full of stoners doesn't seem like a brilliant idea. I agree that it should be used for medicinal use but I cringe at the thought of having to deal with a bunch of stoned co-workers everyday. It's unattractive and unhealthy. I don't see any good coming from this. The people who support legal use of marijuana are mostly supporting this because of their own selfish habit. They're not thinking of what's best for their country or its people. Which drug of choice will you stop at?

No. It should be legalised but tightly controlled i.e. sold only in small quantities from specific outlets. You should also be able to cultivate for your own personal use. The advantages are many; At present anyone who wants it can find a source so it is unlikely that more people would start using it. Those that do source it at the moment normally, of necessity, have to do it through criminal sources. These are the very people who would like all to move on to the harder drugs and will encourage people to do so.
It is a very lucrative market for criminals who use it to fund other activities. Taking this bottom rung out of the criminal ladder will mean millions fewer people will end up having any contact with criminality where they can be exposed to other activities.
Personally I've never tried it but don't have a problem with it. Alcohol probably causes more damage to society.

WHY WOULD YOU ASK SUCH A QUESTION. WILLIE NELSON IS A MAN OF PEACE WHO RECENTLY ORGANIZED THE KATRINA RELIEF CONCERTS AND HAS GIVEN HIS FARM AID CONCERTS FOR MANY YEARS, BUSTED BY A LOUISIANA STATE TROOPER FOR POSSESSION OF A MERE 1&1HALF #'S OF POT AND A SMALL BAGGIE OF MUSHROOMS.
Poor ole Willy will most likely suffer severe treatment from our so called justice system.
He's caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place. The judges almost always throw the book and then some at celebrities (usually in the public service area like concerts or speak at schools and other forms of social events} to humiliate the celeb's public image as an American, who is larger than life . the hypocrites from the older generation still cling to their ideas harming us, their children, in a greater way than we all can know.
It might just be that the very same people who drank in speaks and drank a much more dangerous concoction than the real legal stuff.; (this is what gave birth to the mobsters AND ALL the crime we have today), might rally people around Willie and get
them to vote the hippo's out of here...
it might just be

NO NO NO!!! The legalization of marijuana would solve a ton of problems in this country. They could regulate it and impose taxes on it - what a boost to the economy that would be. It would also provide more protection for children, since there would not be people "pushing" it on the streets, and you would need to show ID to purchase it in the stores. It would ease the burden on our over-taxed judicial system to get these extremely non-violent potheads who never hurt anyone but themselves off the dockets. And if you are looking for somebody to "help", there's plenty of alcoholics and drug addicts that are in a lot worse shape than people who just enjoy smoking a little green. The demonization of marijuana through bs legislation and propaganda is pitiful.

No. But it should be regulated. Let it be sold only in liquor stores.
The Gov't could make alot of money from taxes alone. It's been said that the Gov't has the best stuff.

Considering this country was founded on the principles of freedom, which basically amount to "anything is legal until it can be shown that it infringes upon someone else's freedoms, then it becomes illegal", I say marijuana should be legalized and regulated in the same manner as tobacco and alcohol unless you can convince my why it should be made ILLEGAL. After all, wasn't this country founded upon personal choice?

Can't think of one single reason that it should.
Lord Z has missed the fact the marijuana is Kentucky's number one cash crop and is also huge for california's economy.

Yes, it should remain illegal. I have either known or talked with people who have done more dumb things to screw up their lives because of marijuana than people I have either known or talked with who did dumb things because of alcohol.
Besides, no one would want to hire someone that uses drugs, because their productivity goes way down and no company is going to settle for that.

HELL NO!!! It is only illegal because of racism and prejudice and old politicians still hold on to the views they had in the 1930's.
