one day as I was walking past them I said something about propaganda bullshit under my breath, well apperently it was not so under my breath. Big meathead marine was not so happy with me. Since I was at work do you think I should have kept my mouth shut, or express my opinion about their shitty practices.

the problem I have is the military trying to recruit kids straight out of high school.

i actually work with special education kids, and thank goodness I won;t have to tell my kids that I killed a bunch of people that were about there age because i blindly followed the man who mistakenly took up residence in the white house.

If you had really wanted them NOT to hear you, you wouldnt have muttered it in the first place.
i think you are RIGHT to speak out about it.
it's people like you who end up in the news for standing up for vulnerable high school kids.
if you are so brave, I encourage you to contact an interest group to back up your cause... make them aware and even remain anonymous if you want. make as much noise about this as possible.

As a teacher - you have a responsibility to show both sides of an issue; presenting each arguement as strongly as possible, and then let your students decide. Your opinion is for you - not for you to press it upon those around you. You comment is your business, however, the Marine has the right to his opinion as well. But as a teacher you should know this - so my question to you is, what kind of teacher are you? Certainly one I would not want my children to learn from; and it is at least comforting to know that the Special Ed students probably won't be negatively iimpacted by your "opinions" as they aren't eligible for military service - so thank goodness the damage you can do from your one sided view point is limited.

As you are "educated" let me give you a historic response regarding your viewpoints towards the military. John Stewart Mills, a great author, philosopher, and patriot stated that:
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling of the person who has nothing for which they are willing to fight, nothing which is more important than their own personal safety; is a miserable creature, and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

So I say to you - hater of those who would fight so that you could fling your misplaced aggression upon them - look in the mirror. I bet you see a wimp, a coward, a miserable creature. If you are representative of the quality of our nation's educators; we are most certainly in trouble - as I am not impressed.

If you have a problem with the way the war is being handled; use your representatives (if you actually bother to vote) to lobby for your cause. But to degrade defenders of freedom - I ask you to respect them; as they respect you, as they deserve the respect, and you truly don't.

So do your job - teach your students; and try to keep your mouth shut, or you can choose to pursue the issue with the marines off of school property; and maybe they will shut your big mouth for you.

You need to learn how to get on your knees and sniff someone's butt five times a day. The only thing between you and an international Islamic state is the U.S. military.

Weak people like you make the Muslims proud. And you provide them with a wonderful service with all your anti-American propaganda.

wow your cool
yea yur way better than the Marines with you fancy teaching degree. If your even a teacher, but I think you janitors should keep your mouths shut. Way to set an example.
What will you say 30 years from now when you grandchildren ask "What did you do in the Great Gulf War II?"
At least a Marine doesn't have to say "Well, I wrote little Jonny up for using the F word, and went home to my **** ty little apartment and graded papers."

I think you should absolutely speak out and organize student resistance!

At George Mason U, a man recently out of the Air Force, stopped near a recruiter's table holding a sign protesting the recruitment. The recruiters encouraged other students to beat this man, truly. These fascists must be resisted. Good for you for sticking your neck out!

btw, i'm a military brat and my father's utterly sick at the direction his country, his military has taken. it's in the hand of fascists now and all children should be saved from it.

if the guy got gruff with you report him to his commander and if I were you I'd tell him you are reporting him. It might be a good idea to see if you can get some disabled vets to come and talk to your kidz about how they get treated after the services are done with them, and give their view points on war. No doubt if you do a little research it would not be hard to find someone who was lied to by a recruiter. There are disabled vet sites on the net, and chat roomsyou can watch to find the one who can counter act these reprobates.

What is so wrong with people trying to offer someone a job with benefits? The military will also pay for their college. You need to get a life.

It is a freedom of speech, isn't it? I think you are free to express your opinion everywhere and to everyone.
