I'm an extream novice but i want to learn how to rework (hack) everyday type electronics and or DIY projects. I would like to know some good books that would aid in my education of such.

You need to start with basic electricity first then! If youre serious, your lookin at 4 years of ac and dc circuit design before you will even be close!

You should go to your local community college and enroll in their Electrical Engineering Technology (or similar) program.

There aren't any specific books or anything, but google would be a good place to start.

simple answer to a simple question, before learning to "hack" and possibly change a program , learn how to write one.
