These are opposite words but i need a word to sum them up.... for example to sum up happiness and sadness i would say they are emotions. How do you sum up 'fickleness' and 'fidelity' in this case? (I'm not referring to love... i'm referring to human fickleness as a whole and fidelity on the obedience of social codes and laws)

That's a tough one..but a good one. Sorry but the best I can come up with is a 2 word term.
Human Nature - The desire to follow the normal but the inability to do so consistently.
Maybe this will stimulate your (or other people's) thought process to go on a different tangent and come up with a single word answer.
