SRV is just another case of a white musician watering down good music to make it more palatable to the WASP audience. Hendrix is a GOD.

I would have to say Jimi Hendrix because Stevie Ray Vaughn model his guitar playing to that of Jimi. But your trying to compare two different guitar players of different eras.

Man, that's a tough one. I think people deify Jimi Hendrix because he was the one who "opened the door" for guitarists. But now that I think about it, Stevie Ray did have some skills. I guess the question is, would he have those skills if not for Jimi (or does it matter?).
Tough one.

the sounds of Hendrix that Ray Vaughn copies like most every other guitarists as well even when simple & easy to play these inovations where sheer genius N'est pas ....so ...i would say perspective alters the answer like measuring Quantum mass it's very hard to compare.... Tech. expertise is stevie's creative genius is jimmi's

Both good, I like Stevie Ray better, but neither can touch Eric Clapton.

theres nobody even in the same building as Hendrix. some people would hurt you physically if you dared asked this question. its a really sensitive subject to musicians, especially guitarists.
even so i think SRV is great too, and i dont doubt his ability. but
he himself was in awe of Hendrix's ability. he even did a cover of little wing.
but everyone is entitled to there opinion...

Jimi has more inovative riffs, stuff that you can only think of on acid yet Stevie seems to put more soul into his. not to mention he really amkes it sing.
