If you could give the author and genre that would be nice!

I love to read all kinds of books from short stories to Lord of the Rings.
But for that past year I had stopped reading due to laziness, and now I'm trying to find good books...

Here There Be Dragons by James A. Owen. It's a new fantasy book drawing from a rich literary heritage of fantasy lands and authors...the three main characters...a fictional C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Charles Williams.

I am reading the Hornblower books by D H Frostier. They are very good about a midshipmen in the 18 century fighting the French on the high seas.
If you like scary stuff try books by dean Koontz, James Herbert and Ann Rice.

"Guns, Germs and Steel" by Jared Diamond.

Looks at the whole history of mankind and comes up with explanations for why particular societies developed and others did not. It was a Pulitzer Prize winner.

His follow up book "Collapse", I think, is still on the best seller lists. It looks at why societies which once flourished eventually failed. And then asks whether any existing nations are at risk of future collapse.

And if anyone answers "The Bible" to this question, I would question whether they have actually read it!

Hmm..I like The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. The novel Sarah is also not too bad...Jean M. Auel's Earth children's series are wonderfully entertaining, I think they belong to the fantasy genre.

I really like the series by Laurell K. Hamilton, they are Vampire Hunter novels. Also I like Stephen King's books, which most people recognize his name. Let's see, there's also Jude Devereaux but that's romance and of course there's J.K. Rowling, author of the HP books.
