It's computer animation and prosthetics.

Computer graphics are pretty cool, huh?

The neat thing about CSI is that several of their shows are actually taken from real case files and glammed up for the audience pleasure.

its fiction as motioned but remember Hollywood and Scifi ect has a huge influence on new technologies. Many shows have been done about this ;)

do you mean do they really shoot people? of course not. but they try to keep the reenactments closest to what really happens as possible. and unfortunately most of the things they parody have actually occurred in real life
