It has most probably been removed completely. But still you should carry out a full system scan with a good antivirus and be assured. I recently saw a report which said that AOL Active Security(an antivirus) can catch about 99% of virus.

Well I think you have the answer now so here are some secuirty options for you to look at. I run all of these free proggrames.

Antiviral. (free)

AVG free. Excellent protection available from: http://www.Grisoft.com

Don't use two antiviral products together as they may be incompatible. If your Antiviral trial has run out, then remove product from your computer and get the AVG installed.

Anti-spyware (all free)

Essential products are: Adaware SE from: http://www.lavasoft.com

Spybot SD http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html

Spywareblaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Windows Defender - from Microsoft downloads.

Spycatcher

Ewido http://www.ewido.com

PC starter kit at download.com 20 of the best recommended programes for people new or less advanced in computers. Check all three pages, at bottom see Security/Tools/Fun

C Cleaner.http://www.ccleaner.com/

This will tell you a lot about what is on your computer, such as running programmes, cookies, History, settings etc. and will help you clean up and remove unwanted items. Be careful how you use it as it is a very powerful programme and you should read the help index before you do anything with it.

It is possible that it remains, however very sophisticated viruses can do it, think about a virus that waits in RAM until you format your Harddisk and when you are done it writes itself on your newly formatted harddrive and infects your fresh windows installation.

I would recommend you to run a virus scan with an up to date Kaspersky anti-virus.

Do not be afraid though , there are very very few viruses in history which were capable of doing what i said.

Peace
