fyi-i'm a newlywed and i'm going to my parents in-law for christmas this year...of course i'll bring present for everyone; however, my mother in-law, last year, gave us those "santa" stuffed stockings. i feel bad because i didnt get to give any stuffers (nor know about it) so this year should i bring some stocking stuffers to stuff with my mom in-law or just leave it to her...usually who stuffs it and should i stuff the socks too in addition to hers?

"Santa" stuffs the stockings.

As a guest in their home, you are not expected to do Santa's work at your parents-in-laws'.

If you wish, you may certainly drop a few "nummies" into each stocking. Something little

Individually wrapped Christmas chocolates are always nice. If you want to splurge, get Godiva. Ghiradelli or Lindt truffles are lovely.

Merry Christmas!

Sooooo many people stuff them with candy and that is bad, bad, bad! A little OK, but not the entire stocking.

It depends on the age of the child/sex of the child. Here's some ideas:

small toys, keychain, books, crayons, markers, fingerpaints, playdoh, bubble bath, perfume, nailpolish, nail polish remover, lip gloss, deck of cards, small boxed puzzle, a Christmas ornament, small action figure, make-up, video games, CD's, DVD's, a candle, socks, a t-shirt, jewelry, gift cards, or money.

When i was a tiny kid mom should to put pictures and the larger things like dolls or board games she would put in this big red box we had. in front of the x-mas tree. Now since i have my own family my husband usually puts perfume and little what nots in them the rest of the presents go under the tree.
