I don't know where you live, but I used to buy them at Capezio. Here's a link to their shoes that you can order online:

At a price range of 40-80 dollars it might be difficult to get a proper fit. However, you should never purchase pointe shoes without being fitted by a professional. I recommend the Shoe Room (at the National Ballet of Canada) 404 Jarvis Street in Toronto because the people who fit them there are the best around and you are sure to get a proper fit. The prices range from 50-100 dollars at the Shoe Room and most styles are the brand Freed which is a good company. You will also need to purchase either lambs wool and ballet tape or ouch pouches ($30.00) the ribbons and elastics are included when you buy your pointe shoes. Although pointe shoes are expensive, a good quality, properly fit pair should last at least a year, depending on how oftern you use them. Hope this helps!

Is this your first pair? You didn't say. If you have never bought them before you should be fitted by a professional. Proper fit is critical for your safety and for the correct development of your foot. Try out a dance supplier in you area, or even better, a company store (such as Capezio or Gaynor Minden) if there are any where you live.
If you have worn pointe shoes in the past, and know what you are looking for, try this site:

My absolute favorite place to buy them is at discountdance.com. They sell pointe shoes for SUPER cheap, and I've been buying them there since i was 10. It wouldn't be a good idea though if you've never been up before, for you would want to go into a store and get them fit first, such as Capezio or Bloch.

You should purchase them at a dancewear shoppe. They know how to fit you for pointe shoes. When you go there wear pink ballet tights so you are ready to get fitted. You will also need to get toe pads example: Ouch Pouches and or lambs wool for your pointe shoes, ribbon, and elastic. Are you starting pointe or have you been on pointe for a while? I am a dance teacher and wanted to know. If you are not ready to go on pointe and go on pointe you could really hurt yourself. I hope that I helped you out. Any other questions just post.

Usually at a Dance Shoppe, there's one in our town called The Dance Barre. It sells everything you need for dancing, including tights, leg warmers, toe shoes, etc.
If you can't find one nearby, look in the local nearby larger towns of at least 100,000 phone books and look for a Dance Studio there, call them and ask where they buy their students buy their equipment. Or look under Dance in the phone book.
Good luck! You can find nearby city phone books in the Yellow Pages or On-line.

Charolette H knows what she's talking about! It's nice to know someone out there knows what they are doing with young dancers ! Don't order shoes on line! Every pair fits different! Even the same kind. THanks Charllote H!
