Yup..its a conference call w added features.u can call d person ur talking to.live.w/o costing you anything.apart frm your internet bills, obviously.
and no.u cant b connected w/o knowing.the other party wld knw that u r calling.

actually yahoo messenger is a software that has been introduced by yahoo for messaging. in brief, it is a FREE way to connect between people living near or at far off places through internet. the new yahoo msg with"voice" means that it has a medium quality VoIP network which let's u call ur friends. and also with yahoo phone out, u can call anywhere in the world.

It is software that allows you to talk to others by either typing to them or you can initiate a voice chat with them through your computer.
It is also possible to have group chats, but I don't know if that works for voice chat too. I do know it works for typing though.
No, it does not happen without you knowing. You can configure the software through the preferences so that it does not startup when you start Windows, and you would have to login for it to work too.
I never recommend having your computer remember your login ID and password, because if you were ever to walk away from your computer and somebody was at your home they would have access to your online stuff. Plus, if someone were ever to obtain access control of your computer through the internet, they would be able to steal the files that hold your login ID and password information.

yahoo messenger with voice is a window which you can use to chat, voice chat ,conference ,voice conference, search etc.you'll also have an address book and a messenger list.
