Hi all, thanks for yr advice. Building one is not easy right especially for me a "hardware" blind. My friend told me motherboard must be handed with great care or else yr $ will be a waste. Is it correct?

I would get at least these:

3.2 GHz processor
1GB of Memory DDR2
Good motherboard like ASUS PCI-Express compatible with SLI
Nvidia Geforce 7 7800 at least.

If you change your mind and want a computer for the future too when the better games come out I would buy a:

3.8GHZ processor Dual Core
2GB DDR2 Memory Dual Chanell
Nvidia Geforce 7950GTX 256mb GDDR3- there are still better once available but this is still awsome
You can concider putting it SLI for double speed, but it costs a lot of money
Some cooling for your computer. Make sure the fans are not loud. The CPU always comes with a loud fan.
Also Make sure you get a 550 watt power supply witch is compatible with SLI and the newest technologies.

Hope this helps.

P.S.
If you are going to use it for the habblo, then I think mister r has the best explination for it.

Habbo is not a graphics/processing intensive game. Any current budget model desktops/laptops should be able to handle the job.

If you want something which can handle more advanced games e.g. F.E.A.R or Company of Heroes, you would definitely want to build your own system. Do some research at your local DIY computer shops to get a feel for the prices of different components.

Most times, you will notice a steep rise in price for a given component e.g CPU with only a marginal increase in performance numbers. The cheaper component is what I call the 'sweet spot' where you will get the most bang for your buck. Of course, not all prices will have this 'sweet spot' and you might have to shell out that little bit more for the needed performance increase.

A rule of thumb to follow is not to buy high end or just released components unless you can afford to. Buying mid end or even low end (depending on your requirements) can often stretch your budget considerably. Of course, you will not be able to crank your high end game to 'High Quality' mode but you should be able to play it in 'Mid Quality' with no issues in frame rates.

To start with you need something better then an HP walmart computer. They are too slow.

You need a good graphics card and a lot of memory and normally games take a lot of hard drive space.

Games are the hardest on computers so get the biggest and fastest and the best you can find. The faster and the more memory (ram) and video ram the better.

Usually cheap and gaming system are not used together in the same sentence. If you are referring to http://habbo.com then i don't think you need a high end gaming system. Actually i think any system you can buy now a days could handle any game on that site. But if you are going to make an investment on a new computer i recommend any system that has a PCIE slot and graphics card. If you plan on getting a laptop, then try to get one with a dedicated graphics card, rather than a shared graphics card.

First Off, Don't "GET" ... Build your own.. Then it will be what you want, Not something someone ELSE tells you you want.
