It's not really fair to judge.
We don't know the whole story, we can't make a good judgement based on that.

I have had experience with that, being in both the ones that passed, and the ones that did not pass. You would have to look at what does the professor provide, and what class is it, and how does the professor grade. I would say in my experience it is often the students fault for not applying themselves enough either because the professor is boring or they just were busy with other classes. There are times that the professor just was a bad lecturer, and often would play favorites with only those that went to his/her office hours. So, overall all I can say is start going to office hours, because you may be able to figure out how they will be writing their exam and recieve hints, or if they are a favorites professor, then you can get on their good side.

A passing rate of below 10% is very bad... I would most probably say that your lecturer is either not teaching you all properly or he/she doesn't even know what they are teaching about... The students are not to be blamed as the exam is supposed to be testing what they're being taught by the lecturers in the first place... Go figure...

everyone has a different speed to wich they take in information.they might be the kind of people that need a lot of explaining or they might get the subject the first time the professor teaches it.those 8 students might be those kind of people that learn easily.the other sutdents were either ignorant or had a difficult time understanding the subject.

Bear in mind that the average college professor can't teach worth squat. The larger the university the larger the range of professor skill. Heck, most of them, especially ones for freshman teach against their will.
I always say cheat to win. Hook up with a fraternity or living group that keeps records of tests so you can see how certain professors test.
When you were in high school your teachers as crappy as you though they were, were highly trained professionals. Any bum with a PhD can teach in college.

It means that 92 or more people failed. You are asking us to draw the conclusion that the professor did not do his/her job, but maybe the students didn't do THEIR jobs. We don't have enough information to support a conclusion here.

Those eight are very bright and motivated students. Or the test was for another subject.

I think if eight people can pass then the rest of the class was not paying attention, or did not study.

if 8 passed then the others could have also applied themselves to passing that exam too.
