i wanted to do a magic trick with a fork and i was bending it back and fourth very quick. i burned my self, dropped the fork and embarassed myself infront of a big crowd.

because you stir up the atom molecules in it and the faster they move the more friction they create, friction creates heat...

The energy that you expend bending the fork all ends up in the fork as heat.

Your question in itself is a good one. But how you found out that metal gets hot when you bend it is just plain idiotic. I bet the only thing you made vanish during that show was the crowd.

It could be when you bend it,the molecules start the motion inside the metal and energy is produced.
I do not believe though that the metal got that hot.

Who are you fooling ? No metal would get that hot unless it was made of an alkali metal.

because when you bend it, you excite the molecules and when they get excited, they convert that energy into heat.
