I recently bought a pet golden hamster and have discovered that though normal, he is quite the lazy creature. I had heard it was not advised to house a golden type with a dwarf, but would like to get a dwarf hamster. The cage is very large, with many hide-outs and 2 and 3-tiered levels. Is it possible for them to coincide with one another? Thanks in advance!! :)

It is not recomended to house the two together. They will probably fight , and if they do, they will fight to the end.

Well I just got 2 hamsters and was going to get a dwarf hamster too but the lady said after 8-10 weeks in the same cage,even if it is really large,they will get really territorial and fight.It may even cause death.So I would say no.

Nine out of ten times, the answer is no. It can be done occasionally if both are just weaned, good natured and then placed together but you may still end up with a fighter later.

NO! the golden will very quickly kill the dwarf hamster.

uh-uh they cant hamsters are very terratorial animals.so its nto a good idea to put them together cause theyll kill each other they only get along if thier from the same litter

NO!!!! Syrians (Goldens) are HIGHLY territorial & will hunt another ham down & kill it!!!
