this game against Iowa proved it
I don't think there are any more valid arguments
The NC is their's to loose

their defense is great they need to defend the run better but at the same time they have only alowed one rushing TD the whole year

their offense is Great I think they coud be the best in the country but tressel is alittle conservitive(I'm not complaining)

USC, and Auburn struggled
Michigan and west Virginia haven't really played anybody (I don't count a Notre Dame team that almost lost to Mich St.)

can anybody make a vaild argument for anybody other than ohio state

excuse me THE Ohio State University

The people who think Ohio State ISN'T the best team in the country need to take their blinders off. The only team that can match up with them is Michigan. Everybody who says Ohio State hasn't played anybody, thinks THEIR team is the only team that can beat them.
If OSU ends up winning the Championship, they wil have beaten possibly three #2 teams - Texas, Michigan, and (TBA) in title game.
btw...West Virginia is the most over-rated of over-rated.

To this point. . . yes. . .Ohio State is the best team in the country and this is coming from a Wisconsin native who bleeds badger red. However. . . I also love the Big Ten and the smashmouth football. . . especially defense they play. Wisconsin. . . this year. . .is a top 20 team but no better. . . they are young and will be better by years end. I do believe Michigan right now is the 2nd best team in the country.. . . .they can and may beat Ohio State but either way it will be an awesome game in the horse shoe. Ohio State is Loaded with talent . . defense is awesome as always and the offense for the first time in years has several great players. . .. Troy Smith, Ted Ginn, Pittman, and now Gonzalez make them almost impossible to stop. Michigans great front four will give them a chance but anybody who wants to beat the buckeyes this year will need to win the turnover battle and play near flawless football. The sec is over rated as always. . . the acc and big 12 are down and the pac 10 doesn't play defense. Usc by years end may be able to outscore Ohio State or Michigan but will get beat up in the trenches. I only hope Michigan and Ohio State don't get upset before what will be an epic battle later this year. Lastly. . . let's please shelf the "The Ohio State University" talk. . . it make a person sound like a punk thug Miami Florida fan with the "THE" before it.. . .. lame. . ghetto, and just plain GAY!!!

Notre Dame counts as a "somebody" that Michigan has played. They have struggled a bit, but they are still a good team. When Michigan plays Ohio State, it's going to be a close game. And as for West Virginia, why does it matter that they haven't played anybody? What matters is that they have the skill to play anyone. Pat White and Steve Slaton can run all over Ohio State. Ohio State would be able to do the same against them, but it would be a very close game. Don't forget last year's Sugar Bowl.

Time will tell. USC doesnt play anyone all year. Auburn will be tough to beat. The game that will tell is the obvious one. Michigan vs. Ohio State. They should both be undefeated by the time they play each other. Both 11 or 12 and 0. And by the way USC shouldnt be eligible to play any bowl games anyway. Not to mention the fact of the crooked officials during the Pac 10 games. Keep it in the Big 12 , BIg 10, and the SEC. Those conferences play the good teams.

My opinion is just that, but a good one though. Ohio State is an amazing team, note that Tressel is alternating his starters with his second teamers. And he is winning, not against a bunch of scrubs, three ranked teams to be frank. The Big Ten is the most competive league in the NCAA. There are good teams in college football, there are great teams in college, Ohio State is the greatest team for 2006, Texas was in 2005, etc. The moral of this story, This team has proved week in and week out that they are dead serious and it shows with the leadership of Troy Smith. The 2001 team was dead serious, had great team leadership, this team is Special, they are clearly the team to beat.

OSU has the strongest offense in college football and a deceptively strong defense. This years defense has more turn overs than last year's defense did by this point. Smith, Ginn, Gonzo, & Pittman would be "the" stand out player at any other school (not to mention that Wells and Laurenitis are animals).

(OSU's players are awesome, but their coaching staff is a legend in the making). Woody will not be the only coach remembered if Tressel keeps this up.

What country are you referring to? Certainly not the United States of America I hope. If Iowa hadn't or rather Iowa's quarterback Tate had not handed the game over on a silver platter, it may have been a different story. Sometimes the best team does not win. Look at the LSU/Auburn game. LSU is by far the better team, but lost. LSU would beat the wheels off Ohio State.

Just to name a few teams that are better than Ohio St.: Michigan, USC, Auburn, LSU, Florida, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Louisville.

You beat up on an Iowa team that struggled to beat Syracuse! That proves nothing. You struggled against a Penn St. team that was owned by Notre Dame this season. Tells me Notre Dame is a better team!

Ohio St. is overrated! End of story!

ohio state will be undefeated until they bring Mich in to the horseshoe and then they will play West Virgina in the championship and destroy them.
