Besides the obvious issues like being qualified for the job in terms of education and experience, what are the other qualities you look for in a candidate (such as a positive attitude, motivated, etc).

What qualities matter to you the most?

they appear to have energy, they listen well, dress neat and clean, positive attitude, willing to learn and want to start as soon as possible..willing to work shift that i have in mind............

I always tried to find out if they would be a good match for the company and vice versa... asking things like 'what sort of environment do you prefer to work in?' or 'do you prefer to work alone or with others?' or 'do you prefer peaceful and boring or a fast-paced hectic environment?' No matter how smart and reliable they are, if they aren't going to be happy with the work, nobody will benefit.

Articulate, healthy, good grooming, good personal references, personable, good manners, honesty a must but that takes real insight.
