Well. Tonyma90, we all aren't familiar with the metric system!
I do know that a millimeter is less than a meter,,,then there's the centimeter, which could be half a meter. Who knows ! The flip side of my measuring tape has the metric system, and the only explanation mark is at what looks like 6 meters saying it is 150 cm; it's a little less than 2 1/2". I also know 25 cm equals close to an inch.
To answer the question, I'm sure if you do a search on the metric system, someone has a nice easy to read chart there , with diagrams etc. which I am sure would be helpful to see it visually.
Good Luck !

Millimeter 0.001
Centimeter 0.01
Decimeter 0.1
Meter 1.0
Deka 10.0
Hecto 100.0
Kilo 1000.0
A millimeter is less than a meter. To convert meter to millimeter move the decimal to the left 3 places. To convert a millimeter to a meter move the demical to the right 3 places.
Hope this helps

YES. METER is the standard unit. When u add prefixes to it, you can modify the size of the unit. Say a millimeter is smaller than a meter, infact 1meter=100mm.
And a i kilometer=1000 meter okay?

a millimeter is smaller than a meter. It is exactly 1/100th of a meter. A kilometer is 1000 meters. a centimeter is 1/100th of a meter. Standard measurements around the world---find a metric chart and print it off to help yourself if you require it.
