these two foxes are not that closely related.. red fox is in the genus Vulpes, and the arctic fox is in the genus Aloplex. They do overlap in range, but do not interbreed in the wild. They have used artificial insemination on fur farms to cross the two species, but the offspring was sterile.

possible.
