It may surprise you to know that almost everyone loses a job at one time or another. But the trick here is, what have you learned from this experience.
If you were late, that is a valid reason for getting rid of you, especially if the attendance policy was in writing and you exceeded the allowable tardies. Where I work, if a person is late, the previous shift must stay over and our boss cannot pay overtime. So it creates a problem for our entire team if someone is late coming to work.
So, what can you do to make sure you stop being late to work. What are the reasons you have been late and what can you do to improve this.
I would strongly recommend working on this issue and as you look for your next job, if the question comes up on why you left your last job, tell them you made a mistake and realize you had a tardiness problem. But these are the steps I've changed to ensure it won't be a problem in the future (list a couple of quick improvements). That shows them that you have learned from your mistakes and you are the type of person who will be there for the next employer.
Good luck to you!

I am sorry to hear this. Life is a learning experience, and I am sure you have learned a lot from this, so take that lesson and move on. Maybe you did not really like this job and that was why you were late. Think about what the reason was, and you will know more about yourself. You will have many more jobs in the future. In the meantime, have you thought about going to college? You can meet with an advisor at a community college to discuss some options and their services are free. Good luck.

this may actually have been the case, or maybe they needed an excuse. hopefully you can learn from the experience. Employers tend to be more forgiving of your shortcoming (ie. being late) if you bring extra value to the table. If they can find someone else to do what you do that won't be late, then you are no longer valuable, but are a commodity, and that's where you start getting into trouble. strive to make yourself irreplaceable.
