I would like to know where I can find information about Amsterdam. My friend and I have to do a university project where we have to propose Amsterdam as the host city for the next Olympics.
We need info such as sport stadiums, transportation, hotels, museums, weather, crime rate, etc.
We have already found a lot of info, but would like to know if there is someone out there with a few website names we might have missed.
Thanks a lot.

Amsterdam actually hosted the olympics in 1928 and tried to host it again in 1992 (for the 2000 olympics)... For this last attempt they made a bidbook... you should try to get a hold of that...( http://opc4.kb.nl/CHARSET=ISO-8859-1/DB=1/LNG=NE/LRSET=1/SET=1/SID=016ff097-7/TTL=1/SHW?FRST=2 ) major change since then is the completion of the Amsterdam Arena, home of Ajax soccer club ( http://www.amsterdamarena.nl/ )... And now they're thinking about trying to get the 2016 olympics....

there's a bunch of info in Dutch, is that any good to you? Like http://www.nrc.nl/W2/Lab/Olympischespelen/vragen.html

Best place to start your search in English I guess would be http://www.iamsterdam.com/

you can check out the Dutch Tourist site, which is extremely helpful. It gives you all the information you need, including subway, train and tram schedules, hotels and hostels, and museums, for both Amsterdam and the surrounding cities.
you can find this on www.vvv.nl
for anything else, like history, crimerates, statistics, click on www.nederland.nl
