That would be due to the same variety of attractions that exist within any community. Why do some guys prefer submissive wives? Why do some guys prefer more dominant wives? Why do some guys prefer "effeminate" guys or "masculine" guys? Why do some people like other people with red hair? Why do some people like tan skin? Why do some people like blue eyes? It all boils down to the same thing.
It's interesting how often this question comes up and the obsession with the "Why not date a guy if you're going to date someone who looks like a guy" type question. There's an obsession at the moment with gender and those who deviate from their proscribed norm. Why do we even use "effiminate" and "masculine" to describe certain people? These are not things that naturally occur...they exist through social norms. Women are not inherently more caring or nurting or emotional than men any more than men are emotionless or strong or collected. We've simply been taught to believe that's how each group should be, that those are the values and actions acceptable from them.
So, what does it matter what gender someone's partner of choice looks like?

I saw the most hottest guy one night and i was doing my best Peacocking around him and he so didnt notice me at all. all the other guys did just not him--so i went up to him and started talking to him --turned out to be a girl!!!!!!!!! mortified!!!! but just as hot, man hot. but i will say my confidence was restored
