He did inspire the country but his greatest contribution was dying in office(that also inspired the country).

You don't specify which Kennedy, so I guess we assume you mean J.F.K.

As for his work, there has been little effect other than the civil rights work which was done, strangely believe it, by Lyndon Johnson to honor the legacy of J.F.K. and his brother Robert.

As a legendary figure, Kennedy left behind the illusion of an American Camelot which would likely have fallen to ruins if he had lived out his term.

Because of President Kennedy's futuristic ideas about space,
we have the amazing satellite technology we have today.
He also did alot of wonderful things for civil rights.
