lol, yes my cousin tried to light two that I held in my hand using a cap gun but the sparks lit the fuse right down by the firecracker and they both went off in my hand. The really sad thing is that we knew we couldn't tell any of the adults because we wouldn't be allowed to blow up anything else.

This wasn't exactly me but I was there. We rented a houseboat one Independence Day weekend and we had six kids between 8 and 16 on it. We decided to launch the fireworks from the rooftop deck of the houseboat out over the Lake. So we were all up on top, it was very dark out. We were sitting fountains on the side and launching rockets into the air. The boys were more into the pyro part and us girls were sitting watching the show. We had a big plastic bag full of all sorts of high power rockets and such sitting on top of the airconditioning unit . All of a sudden a spark flew and caught the plastic bag on fire. We yelled, my husband saw the fire, grabbed the plastic bag and flung it off the boat. Just as the bag left his hand it exploded. Fortunately no one was hurt but it was a very close call.

We used to shoot each other with bottle rockets. We would get in rival treehouses, shoot some roman candles at each other and use the burned out tube to aim bottle rockets at each other. I never had one pop on me, but a guy I know got a nasty scar on his chest from one exploding on it.
It was great fun.
Now bottle rockets are illegal.

One time when I was ten I was lighting firecrackers in my hand and tossing them in the air. Let's just say one didn't get in the air fast enough and blew the sh*t out of my hand. No permanent damage, but DAMN it hurt!

We were shooting off bottle rockets once holding them in our hands. One went right between my aunt's legs and popped. No more bottle rockets that night!
