Yes two back injuries. One was pulling a patient up in the bed, and the other was a slighlty disoriented patient who fell on me. Both times I was put on light duty. The hospitals doctor sent me to physicall therapy twice a week, and I did still have to work. I would go in and fo chart audits, releive the clerks and tele tech, do paperwork for the cahrge nurse, and then when they couldnt find anyhting else they stuck me in security to watch the monitors and answer phones. They ahd to find me somthing to do, because if they didnt theyd have to pay me workmans comp to sit at home on my caboose. I did not receive lower pay, only when they couldnt use me and I sat at home my workmans comp was lower. I also had to go around and verbally quiz everybody on JHACO standards. They basically do this with everyone else.

Depends on the facility you work for and the type of injury. They gave me "light duty" if there is such a thing as that on the floor while I was in therapy. Another nurse was put on the telemetry monitors; she injured her leg. Another nurse from the same floor was sent to work in the medical records office (don't exactly know what the circumstances of her injury were.) You don't get paid your regular salary, it's slightly lower.

I PULLED A MUSCLE IN MY BACK AND YES I CONTINUED TO WORK, BUT IT REALLY DEPENDS ON THE FACILITY IN WHICH YOU WORK AT..AND HOW BAD YOU ARE INJURED. I DO NOT LIKE TO MISS WORK..
