Either u have to download latest Internet Explorer 7 ( which is plain crap)
Or you can download latest yahoo toolbar from http://toolbar.yahoo.com . Yahoo toolbar enables tabbed browsing for Interner Explorer 6.

There is a plugin available for IE6 to do that, though really the easier way would be to download Firefox. There's an extension available for Firefox that will allow you to open tabs in Firefox using IE and switch back and forth.
IE7 does have tabs, I've been running it for a couple of months now. The current release is RC1, which is NOT a production release. I haven't had any issues with it, but some people have reported that it broke their systems, so if you have business report due at 8am, now isn't a good time to upgrade.
Honestly, Firefox is so much better I don't understand why people are still so stuck on IE.

You need internet explorer 7 in order to use tabs. IE 6 and below does not support Tabs.
Keep in mind that IE 7 is currently a Release Candidate, not a final product yet.

If you download Maxthon ( http://maxthon.com ) for windows, then you can get tabbed browsing and you don't need internet explorer 7. Its free and has a cool features. I prefer this one compared to firefox.
