Hi,

Your question does not have just one answer. It depends on many variables such as what your specific degree is, the location where you will be working, the economy at the time, and any other skills you might bring to the table.

It also varies from company to company. A different benefit package could substantially tip the scales in favor of one company over another. Your negotiation skills & people skills during the interviewing & hiring process might also play a factor in the salary decision results. (Hint: always ask for a little more than what you think you will get. Also - try to get the company to throw out the first number.)

I suggest you start by going to www.salary.com and plugging in a few numbers to give yourself a starting estimate to work with. You can also network with others in your field or ask the professors at your college for an estimate.

In addition, brush up on interviewing tips & your knowledge of the company before you begin interviewing.

Good luck! :)

In what?
My brother in law graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering with a 4.0 and honor classes. He started out making somewhere about 70-80,000

I have a BS in secondary Ed (high school math teacher) and I started out making aroudn 32,000

Another friend had a BS in history and couldn't find a job, so he went back to get his masters and eventually his Phd.

Some degrees pay more then others (supply & demand).
Poor grades lower that pay.
Different areas of the country (and world) pay more then others.
Some companies expect more from you (overtime, etc) so they pay more.

So more information would probably be helpful.

If you know what exact degree you were thinking of, then you could ask at a college or some companies that hire those degrees.

What is your degree in and what do you want to do with it? Where do you live?

There is no easy way to figure out how much you're going to make! When I graduated with a BS in Psych in 1998, I worked as a traffic coordinator at a big ad agency in Detroit for $17,500!!!

I thought college graduates made a crap load of money...I was wrong! Of course experience, and moving to NYC, have significantly increased my pay rate...and my cost of living.

Good luck!
