I am pretty sure you have Edema. This is a condition when the heart no longer has the ability to pump all the fluids back up into the heart. Edema is just a collection of fluid that is not being pumped back up to the heart.
Go see a Doctor. He can diagnose you properly. You may have to take some time during the day to elevate your feet.
Edema is not life threatening, but it is a serious sign of aging. In my opinion, 53 is too young to have it.

When you start get a few years on you, even in good health, things in your body don't work quite as well as they once did. If your feet and/or ankles are swelling, chances are you've got hypertension as well. First thing to do is cut way back on your salt intake it should relieve both the swelling and the hypertension. If not see a physician.

It can be a lot of things....In the last year I've had problems with my feet swelling up and being so painful as to not be able to walk. Found out it was gout.....which is related to kidney function....see a podiatrist or Doctor.

sounds like poor circulation to me. Also, if you're flat footed that may complicate or exaggerate the problem you're faced with. Podiatrists are only a phone call away... get em looked at now. Don't wait.

your body is retaining more fluid go to the chemist and get some fluid retention tablets. You can test by pressing your finger on part of your foot and if it shows up a creamy yellow mark that take a while to fade its fluid.

You should go and see a doctor about your symptoms. You might need some diuretics to get rid of the extra liquid in your body.

Kidney fails to purify blood and urine is mixed in blood; urea level increases in blood & that goes to feet.

Sounds like you are retaining water, if you use salt, cut back on it. If you are overweight, it could be a sign of diabetes, ask your dr.
