It is an algebra problem.
Set up 2 equations.

17x + 7y = 5.36 is the first equation.

I'll let you try to find the second equation.

Then you can hopefully know how to solve 2 equations.

I'll set it up for you:

x = cost per orange;
y = cost per apple.

17x + 7y = 5.36
8x + 5y = 3.68

Solve the first equation for x. Then plug the value for x into the 2nd equation and solve that one for y.
Finally, take the value for y and plug it back into the 1st equation to find the value for x.

change the word problem into n equation
suppose oranges = x n apples = y

17x+7y = 5.36 ................... 8x+5y = 3.68

now take out x from anyone equation and put in on second for result like taking second equation

x = 3.68 - 5y / 8......... place this value of x in equation 1.
=> 17(3.68-5y/8)+7y = 5.36-------------now solve this for value of y

=> (62.56 - 85y + 56y) = 42.88
=> 85y-56y = 62.56 - 42.88
=> 29y = 19.68
=> y = .67862 -------- now place this value of y in second equation

=> 8x + 5y = 3.68
=> 8x + 5(.67862) = 3.68
=> 8x + 3.39310 = 3.68
=> 8x = .2869
=> x = .2869 / 8
=> x = .0358625

u can chk the answer by placing values of x n y both in first two equations both of them will answer right hand side equals left hand side

we could say: x= pigs y= ducks x+y=seventy 4 (the style of heads mutually is seventy 4( 4x + 2y = a hundred ninety (style of legs cases each and every animal supplies you entire quantity of legs, then upload for the two animals) remedy for the answer! :D
