the last time i saw a deer was a traumatic story. it was last october...i had visited my parents and was embarking on a two hour drive home with my two young children in the car. all of a sudden, i saw a HUGE doe right in front of me....she bolted out of nowhere....and i had no choice but to hit her.....it happened so fast.....i literally just bit my lip and let my car go into her. it was so scary...she flew up on the windshield and over the car....and then to the side of the road. i was FREAKING out....but trying to maintain composure for my children's sake. i turned the car back around, and pulled over and got out to check on her....someone had called a police officer. he shot her to put her out of her misery because i had broken her spine. it broke my heart because i love deer. thankfully no one in my car was injured and it happened so fast that my children didnt even realize what had happened. so...yes....call disney....i killed bambi's mom. GOD.

I see them more often around my community than I do when I'm hunting them in the Fall/Winter. I only live 3 miles for a park that I am almost guaranteed to see deer in every time I go through it. I put in my football picks at the casino which is about 5 - 7 miles from my house the other day. I say at least 15 of them. Most of them in groups. When I go hunting I am lucky to see one or two a day. As far as hunting goes everyone has mixed opinions. Personally I feel it keeps the herd in check and keeps them from starving in the winter. Or dying from disease. I live in Missouri. I started hunting in 1991 and the herd back then was about 490,000 in the state. now it is up to 1,200,000. I will agree they are very beautiful animals and I love to see them in the wild. I also know that if we do not control their numbers they will cause serious property damage, eat up our crops, and as I said earlier they will starve due to lack of food in the winter. To answer your question, I see them all the time.

I just moved to the south and I saw one about two weeks ago, it was young and very sweet looking. When I lived out west I can't remember ever seeing one alive. I won't even start on deer season starting soon.

I saw some of them out in the country. I almost hit one with my car. They're not only cute, they are peaceful animal and graceful too. Unfortunately, I don't have a backyard. They usually come out of the woods when they are hungry.

Just this morning. I see them in my backyard too everyday. They are awesome. I like it when the turkeys come in the yard at the same time. Neither one seem to mind the other is there. It's pretty cool. Got pictures of it too.

It has been awhile since I saw a deer, but then again, mating season is coming up, so I am sure I will see them again.

I was in a German restaurant a few weeks ago, and they had a deer head mounted on the wall.
It was a 10 pt. buck.
I had the venison that day.
