Yes, but only after I make Eye Contact, Blink My Eyes, and the Dog Blinks it's Eyes back at me, and Wags it's Tail. Then, I've made a Psychic Connection, and I know I can safely Pet the Dog. I've come up to Big Dobermans, German Shepherds, Pit Bulls, etc., that were supposed to be so Mean. They can sense Fear, and Respond with Aggression. I usually have more Trouble with Small Dogs, Poodles, Chihuahuas, etc. They're usually more Stressed and Hyperactive. Give them a Treat to Eat, and they'll usually calm down.

Unfortunately many times.
But, then again, that's how we've gotten most of our pets: rescues from the street.
And my sister runs a Wolf Rescue on the far side of my property.
Wouldn't recommend it though. As many great dogs I've had, I've also been bitten from time to time.

Never. If the owner is with I'll ask if I can pet the dog and then I let him sniff my closed hand first.

I do that all the time.
I love dogs, and they can sense that, so we're cool.
I've never been bit by a strange dog.

I have in the past but learned all dogs are not friendly. I wait until the dog approaches me, with a wagging friendly tail, then I pet.............:)

All the time, but I always let them sniff my hand and I approach them slowly so I don't scare them. I make friends with all the dogs along my running routes.

I would rather try to pet foxes. With heavy gloves on, of course.

no I don't.. just don't think it's a safe thing to do. Besides you can never be sure how the pet's owner would feel about it.
