I watched some boring American show called "Ghost Hunters", the most boring reality should out of the USA. and "Most Haunted" the stupidist reality show out of the UK. I wonder if they would investigate abortion clinics. If they go to a prison in Eastern America, where lots of death happened, why not an Abortion clinic?

I'll take a stab at an actual answer that has no political or religions lean:

There are several theories regarding "ghosts." Some believe that they're that actual souls of the dead, trapped on Earth for a specified or unspecified amount of time as a sort of punishment or because they are somehow "damaged." Your suicide ghosts, etc. tend to fit here. In that definition, aborted babies are unlikely candidates for ghosts.

Another, probably more widely-held definition holds that "ghosts" are more like visual recordings that are made at a place due to a few factors. One is repetition. Think of all the stories about old housekeepers who go on walking the homes of their employers long after they die. Or Abraham Lincoln pacing the White House, to cite a well-known example.

Another factor often cited in the "creation" of such a spatial memory is a violent action -- like a military battle -- or a violent and emotional death that's strongly tied to a place. The two criteria of violence and emotion seem to be tied together; not everyone who dies a violent death leaves behind the mystic combo to create a "ghost," after all -- people are murderered every day and you don't hear of rampant ghost sightings, so it's not a given that a violent death creates this spatial memory.

The other criteria that seems to be in place is a realization that one is going to die or is about to die. And generally, the more grisly the death, sadly, the more likely to create that spatial memory.

Taking all that into account, I would think that it would be unlikely that an aborted baby -- who are usually not along very far in the developmental process -- would have an understanding of death or that death was imminent, and so would not have the fear response associated with a violent death.

Nor would an aborted baby form the kind of attachment -- positive or negative -- to the place of its death, as it wouldn't be aware of its surroundings as such.

I also think an argument could be made that it isn't an "emotional" death in the usual sense of the word -- the victim in question is not literally being killed by anyone known to them.

So, really, logically speaking, there would be no reason for an aborted baby to leave a ghostly "imprint," if you will on any place in the way of a traditional haunting -- which seems to be what these television shows seek out.

Compare that to deaths in prisons -- which often may have been torturous, excessively cruel deaths after a long incarceration, filled with repetitive days, and you can perhaps see why old prisons and mental institutions are two places generally believed to be ripe with ghostly activity.

I held a seance in a hospital once when i worked there and let me tell you the glass span off the table and some gals in the lounge ran out........so it was a good place to pick up on things.. as for choosing an abortion clinic... thats a bit sad..are u asking if unborn babies have souls???I think animals have souls so why shouldnt babies and the unborn does seem to have a character... im unsure as it is technically a fetus..and if it was say 6 weeks old..well...i suppose very undefined.. but whos to know..however with the sadness of knowing what decision lies behind this choice i wouldnt hold it in an abortion clinic out of respect to the souls mother and child cos im sure both suffered pain..i do hold a belief that somehow we have a moral obligation and thats where i draw line having a seance in an abortion clinic

The question is why not an abortion clinic. I'm sure there are ghosts. But thats not in question. "Why" is the question at hand. I believe the media has alot to do with it as well as politics. If they were to prove unborn children have souls then it would create such an uproar. The public wouldn't be ready for such a revelation. Its safer to not adress the issue than to bring up or possibly side with something so controversial on something so family oriented as television. Even though is is a shitty program about ghosts. Just my opinion though.

Ghost Hunters is far from boring, and Most Haunted isn't the "stupidist".
