Definition - An unlawful attack by one person upon another for the purpose of inflicting severe or aggravated bodily injury. This type of assault usually is accompanied by the use of a weapon or by means likely to produce death or great bodily harm. (It is not necessary that injury result from an aggravated assault when a gun, knife, or other weapon is used which could and probably would result in serious personal injury if the crime were successfully completed.)

I am not sure that the term aggravated is used in connection with assaults.
It is used in connection with burglary for example. If a person takes with them any of the following: His WIFE:
WEAPON of offence: made or adapted or intended by the person to injure or incapcitate;
IMITATION Firearm; anything having the appearance whether capable of being fired or not;
FIREARM: inc airguns and air pistols
EXPLOSIVE: article manufactured for exploding or intended by the person for that purpose.

its either the person was provoked or it might just be the person didnt do anything at all and they were just attacked for no apparent reason i think it might be the second one

aggrevated assault (spelling) is when you are touched by another person uninvited and aggressivly. i think.
