these orders usually mean you can't go any where near her you may not contact her in any way (mail e-mail phone or even through family. no this doesn't mean you will be charged with a crime of any kind, it just means she is sick of you and your relationship and she is in fear of what you might do to her. your best bet is to stay away from her and go on with your life cuz these places that help you get these orders also help you get a divorce. in order to get a protection order there has to be a history of violence mental or physical or both. she must have had some thing if the judge signed it. Good Luck

Emergency protective orders are CIVIL cases. You will have a trial within 10 days to see if the EPO is to stay in effect. During that time, if she so chooses she may file criminal charges. If you did do something wrong, I suggest you have a FREE consultation with an attorney. If the police come to visit, don't say a word... call back your attorney and have them meet you. Heck, I'd keep the curtains drawn and not answer the door. If the cops come during non business hours, srcew them...let them wait till tomorrow when you approach them with an attorney... cause if they get you at night to talk to you, there's a good chance they'll detain you until your attorney comes the next day.

No, it means that you must keep a certain distance from her. If you threatened her or struck her you deserve it, on the other side if you've done nothing I feel for you . It is so easy for a woman to file for it because the court does'nt want the liability in case you would cause further harm to her up to and including death. In pennsylvania she can file for a sum of $154.00 and when and if you appear in court and you hire a personal Attorney they can be costly $2000.00 and up. Go with a free appointed Attorney if it is worth over turning hire one. goodluck to the both of you !
