What is the best brand of ice skates to buy?

I am a beginner skater with no previous experience skating. I want to buy a pair of skates for leisure skating that will be durable and comfortable. I know nothing about ice skating so any info you can give me would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Buy used.............The skates tend to be already broken in and comfortable.

If you are unable to buy a used pair..........look for inexpensive skates by Bauer/Nike or CCM. These are the two largest skate manufacturers in the world and make skates for all forms (recreational, hockey, and figure skating).

Go to a store that specializes in skates, fit is very important in skates, especially if you've never skated before.
