you can't ask other people why YOU want something, don't you think that's something that you and you alone would know?
however, if you're talking about your needs ala TransAmerica, then maybe you should get some professional counselling. Not to say that it's wrong, but just to make sure what you want is what you really want, and not just because you would like to know how it feels like to wear dresses and make up (oh and btw you dont have to be female to do those things either)

I love being a woman and thank God every day that I am. If I were a man, I would do everything I could to be a woman. I guess you may have these feelings.

Because it is more fun. We get to wear make up, do our hair, get lots of clothes and jewelry...and we are not called gay/lesbian even when we act that way with each other.
