Where nice slacks(preferably a dark color), a button up long sleeve shirt, a tie, and dress shoes. Another good option is a suit, but if you don't already have one, I'd go with the first option.

Since it's for the Spirit Week, and not the dance itself (or am I reading this wrong?) have some fun with the outfit.
Black dress pants and black dress shoes.
A dress shirt in one of your school colors.
A black belt with gold buckle.
A red or purple cape with white faux fur trim.
A crown.
You can get most of that stuff pretty cheap since it's around Halloween, also borrow as much as you can from friends and family members.

It really depends what type of prince....i would just dress extremley preppy and talk with some kind of accent, probably engilsh!
