Sounds like a silly question at first, but I'd rather have the cake -hands down, however....my daughter would for sure take the pet monkey - so I guess it's not so silly

Cake. Chocolate cake doesn't screech in the middle of the night. Chocolate cake doesn't bite, or masturbate, or throw feces. Monkeys may seem lovely in the abstract, but chocolate cake will make you happier in the long run.
