a mystical sect of Judaism
the background literature goes back 1500-1700 yrs to writings dealing with "throne" theology...
about 900-1000 yrs ago, there were extensions to this "throne" thinking...and the theological importance of the Torah began to take on greater importance
about 500-600 yrs ago, this stress on the Torah became the key feature of what would become Kabbalahistic teachings
basically, and I do mean basically
it is a mystical and mathematical interpretation of the torah
and therefore a mystical and mathematical understanding of g-d, the g-dhead, and existence...
a "bit" too complex to elaborate on here but
a good reference, source book is
"The Early Kabbalah" by Joseph Dan and Ronald Kiener
published under "The classics of Western Spirituality"

kabbala is a form of Jewish occult(occult does not mean evil or demonic as some people think) practices. There is so much that it incorporates. There is a whole lot that I could tell you but this is not the place for it and everyone ought not be exposed to the real kabbala. What I will tell you though is that all the celebs that claim to be practicing kabbala are fake and most of the books out there are fake as well, a genuine ancient book on kabbala is a rear find and few really exist, an open mind and a strong constitution are very important when one desires to begin a study of kabbala, it is so powerful that some people don't recover after having studied these works. It is not a game, a fad or a religion, Kabbala is a spiritual heightening and upliftment and a way of life.

If you want to know about the REAL system of the cabala (there's a gajillion ways to spell the same word) you should read:
1)Kabbalah for the Modern World- M. Gonzalez Wippler
2)Simplified Cabala Magic- Ted Andrews
3)A garden of Pomegranets- Isreal Regardie
4)The Middle Pillar- Isreal Regardie
These will be a good start. The Kabbalah the celebs. practice is a watered down version, and knowing Hollywood, It will eventually get expensive (I've been studying kabbalah for years and I've never had to buy a red bracelet to ward off evil; I can do that all on my own).
study hard and remember........

hi. No. It develop into no longer forbidden. even with the indisputable fact that, it develop into initially studied after one had already mastered the different aspects of Judaism, e.g., the Torah (Written and Oral Torah) and also confirmed adulthood and "settling down" into and being component to the international. There might want to were some particular exceptions to this. yet, this develop into typically the custom. in fact, even as the Baal Shem Tov (about the 1700's) began introducing Jewish mysticism without requiring all the different aspects first, it develop into this kind of departure that "mainstream" Jewish leaders were no longer particular if it might want to be allowed or no longer. For a lengthy time period, the majority were antagonistic to it till the Baal Shem Tov confirmed to them the importance of Jews gaining understand-how of Chasidus no matter if or not they were discovered in different parts.

It has many complicated topics in it so aperson can never completely learn it. There are many books on it. It is an abomination that celebs are learning it. Its for Jews, not nutcase celebs.
