Republicans and or conservatives. Nixon CUTS and RUNS from Vietnam. Iran blackmails Reagan with hostages (Carter got tough and sent in special forces until chopper was shot down) so Reagan arms Iran and the Contras.

Reagan CUTS and RUNS from Hezbollah in Lebanon when they bomb a marines barracks. Reagan and Bush arm, train, finance Bin Laden and his boys in Afghanistan (the CIA operative who was the go between said on p.b.s that he warned Reagan and Bush to stop dealing with Bin Laden, but they ignored him thus ending any excuse of “we were helping him to destroy the Russian occupation”. http://www.consortiumnews.com/Print/091701a.html

Reagan, Bush, Rumsfeld give Saddam chemical weapons. Hundreds of thousands die during this long ordeal (including an estimated 90,000 infants and toddlers which is more in that time span then abortions for a decade) Saddam runs out and then we stop arming him. That’s why we knew there were no WMD’s in Iraq.

Reagan, Bush arm and finance the Taliban. Bush’s go into business with the Bin Ladens (Carlyle Group). Bush’s become great friends with the Saudi Royal family, the same family which has financed terrorism for years. Dubya ignores Presidential Daily Brief which says “Bin Laden determined to strike U.S.”. George Tenant Begs Bush to be on alert for airplane hijackings from Arab students who are being trained to fly aircraft, but not how to take off or land. Congress wants a budget of 3 million to combat terrorism, Bush squashes this and gives zero, that’s zero dollars to terrorism. Richard Clark constantly warns Bush about terrorist attacks that will be coming soon, Bush ignores him. 9/11/01 We are hit on Bush’s watch and Bush looks like an idiot on TV when he finds out we are under attack, and operation blame Clinton because Bush is an idiot begins.

Bush protects the Bin Laden family before 9/11 when the FBI was told to back off Bin Ladens brother who was funneling money to Al-Qaeda http://www1.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/cms.dll/articleshow?art_id=1030259305after 9/11. Bush tries handing over port security to countries linked to terrorism. Bush cuts a deal with Pakistan, a country to be well known to be a safe haven for terrorism. Now Pakistan has cut a deal with Al-Qaeda.

Bush is opening up our borders to Mexico and Canada soon allowing terrorists free reign in America, and handing over a hundred thousand jobs to Mexicans to be in charge of our cargo security, and all importing and exporting (this one is from Conservative Republicans http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=14965 )

People start making excuses “we haven’t been attacked in five years. Experts then ask “what about five years and one month, this shuts up Republicans.

Americans invent a new drinking game called “if in doubt blame Clinton”. Whenever a nut case Republican or conservative tries to put blame on Clinton to divert attention away from the Republicans terror record (see above, or read your high school history books) take one shot of whiskey.

The question is do you still feel safe? And will Republican conservatives quit arming, training, financing all our enemies?

Oh get over the poor Clinton bit, he sunk himself, he needed NO help from anyone to do that!!

Bin Ladens first attempt on the Towers back in 1993, was under Clinton, which he was too busy to do anything about it, then the bombing of an American Embassy in Africa, then the USS Cole, many were killed, all under Clinton, did he do anything???? NO!

So, 9/11 happened and Bush reacted like a President should, and we haven't had any attacks since, so do I feel safe?? Yes, allot more than I would if a player from the opposing team was up to bat.......

Oh & BTW... your "facts" , well, they just AREN'T!!

The real threat to America are the very people that are in power today. The war on terror is just like the the war on drugs, the war on poverty, etc. The true victims in all these wars are the American people whose freedoms have been eroded, retirement accounts and pensions have been stolen, and what used to be a world superpower has become a world class bully with no visible means of support. If American business was truly patriotic, then all the manufacturing jobs which gave this country its economic might wouldn't be in China and Mexico. We are becoming a country of loan sharks and thieves. What happened to our honor?

Do you really think that if the terrorists had their choice in beheading Americans they would have any interest whatsoever in the victim's political affiliation?

Do you believe they think for one minute that a Democrat is less of an infidel than a Republican?

The terrorists don't give a damn about our political affiliation.

As far as your cherry picked examples - you fail to mention LBJ's "contributions" to the Viet Nam war, Carter's "tough" choppers didn't get "shot down" - they got bogged down in the deserts with sand in the engines (great strategic planning, eh?) - You left out Reagan's response to the bombing in Lebanon (you probably don't even know of the devastating rocket and shelling he responded with) - and on and on and on.......

The war on terror follows many mistakes by BOTH parties - and trying to lay the entire blame on one is nothing but counter productive.

We can't "feel safe" regardless of who's in office - we must take the terrorists' threats very seriously.

We must, sooner or later, present the Islamic terrorists with a united front - either that, or we better just convert to Islam - or die.

Isn't this party politics game exciting.

Let's stand back a little, and take a look at the bigger picture.
Party politics is simply in place to enable people to believe that there is some form of democracy.

This is not the case. Behind elections and government is something considerably more powerful and insidious.

Take a look at this page for a little enlightenment, and then search around the site to fill in many blanks.

Very well put.

But I must take exception to your second to last paragraph. There'd be a problem taking a shot of whisky every time some right-wing nutball blames a Clinton (Bill or Hillary) for everything that ever happened.

There isn't enough whisky in the world.

Where were Conservatives' so-called "strong defense" on 9/11?

Conservatives want us to be glad that there hasn't been another attack but I want to know why there was such a massive attack in the first place.

well for one thing I give you credit for at least trying to think this through, but you aren't doing a very good job. there are things you need to look up about Johnson, Reagen and carter that you have missed interpreted. go back and start over.

Calm down and stop pointing fingers. Yikes. Do you really think your post is being productive? Both republicans and democrats can be blamed for various things, whether it be security related or otherwise.

I will never feel safe when there are terrorists that hate us and would love to kills us, no matter if there is a Republican or Democrat in office, because they don't care if they kill Republicans or Democrats..
