Yankees beat the Tigers 3 games to 2.
Twins beat the As 3 games to 1.
Twins beat the Yankees 4 games to 2.

The Twins have been the hottest team in baseball right now, and the Yankees have proved to be expert choke artists the past five seasons.

The Tigers series is tough. Yanks are really good, and so can the Tigers be. The Tigers have been slumping and lost that huge lead in the division and the Yanks kept theres so I go Yanks. Oakland I think is a very underrated team cause there small ball and west coast. Twins are HOTTTT!!!!!!!! I think pitching is going to be outragious but D will win it, so I go with Oakland in the upset. I then think the youth of Oakland will outlast the older Yankees and upset again. Oakland A's will win the ALCS.

First, the Tigers have no chance. To be swept by a 100 loss team and lose the division in three days is bad enough, but if the Royals trounced them, think of what New York will do with their powerful lineup. Yank's in 3. The A's have a better chance, but the Twins have one of the best home field advantages in the majors. It is intensely loud in the metrodome come playoff time, and teams sometimes lose sight of balls against the grey/white ceiling. Even disregarding these factors, Mauer, Morneau and Hunter will hit well, and the best bullpen in baseball will back the best starting pitcher, Johan Santana, in shutting down an otherwise respectable A's offense. Twins in 4.
So with the Twins taking on the Yankees, things get more interesting. Barring an injury to a major player, I think that it will go 7 games. If Liriano was healthy, I'd take the Twins in 6, but both teams have pitching woes. If the Yanks win, it'll be because of offense, and if it's the Twins, it'll be stellar pitching and defense. Defense wins championships. Twins in 7.

I'm going to say Detroit over NY in four, 4-8, 4-3, 6-0, and 8-3.
And I think I'll go with Oakland in 3, 3-2, 5-2, and 8-3.

and Detroit over Oakland in 4. 7-4, 4-1, 4-1, and 9-5.

Minnesota Twins. They have the best rest record seince june, and the best bullpen. Mauer is the AL Batting champ. Morneau will most likely get MVP, Santana the Cy Young, Gardenhire Best Manager, and they might even have the Rookie of the year. Besides the Twins deserve it more than the others, and have Kirby Puckett(34) as their motivation. I say the Twins are the team with the momentum to get the ALC and become World Champs once again, this one is for Kirby. Detroit and New York don't have a prayer.

Yankees in four. The pitching, although recently hurting, has been turning in consistently good performances. The offense can be extremely explosive. Combine the two and you have a winner.
Twins in 5.
Johan Santana 2 - A's 0.
One other Twins pitchers has to step up.

Too freaking bad the Twins lost--it's funny and so sad seeing these predictions saying they were going to win. I was seriously hoping for it but was completely shocked at Santana's loss. So now we know the true outcome, Tigers vs. A's, and I hope the Tigers win because Oakland is annoying me right now and they beat my Mariners just about every freaking time we played them, making me pretty darn mad and frustrated.
