Why do people ask why people like something when they have no intention of listening and just use it as an opportunity to slag something off?!
I'm English and I watch as much NASCAR as I can, I enjoy it, the close racing the drafting, the speed! It's good to sit down and watch it with a few beers and not have to worry about pit strategies and the FIA interfering with everything cos their team isn't winning!
I love F1 too, in fact I love Motor Racing and watch as much as I can.

NASCAR is just a different form of racing, that tests different skills.
In road racing, the main thing is competition between the driver and the track. Competing with other drivers is rare. In Formula One, it's almost nonexistent. Cars are usually very different and the car is very important. The guy who can lap fastest usually wins.
NASCAR is a head to head competition between drivers and teams. The idea is to see who can deal best with racing around turns on a very crowded track. Lots of people have pretty similar cars. Pure speed is important, but so are tactics and planning. It's less pure than road racing, but very exciting, if you understand what's going on.
Tony Stewart did not have the fastest car last Sunday, but he gambled on fuel and just won, coasting across the finish line. Other teams gambled on fuel and some lost big. The fastest guys played it safe by refueling, but lost to Stewarts gamble. Good stuff.

I love it. You never know what will happen. I find it exciting. I have never been to an actual live race but if I did I'd rather go to a small track like Bristol so that I could see more of the track. I am a fan of #6 and #99!

I used to think that way too, until a friend of mine got me hooked! There is just something about it...it is hard to explain.
The high speeds, cars beating and banging on each other, bumper to bumper. The cars are entering turn 4 reaching speeds close to 190mph, all of a sudden you see cars spinning around...you are holding your breath at this moment. Trying to see if your driver was involved, or who was...and if they are okay. Did your drivers day just go down the drain or did he come through it okay and still has a chance to win.
There is so much more to racing than just cars going around the track...you just need to watch and get into to totally understand. It is just like any sport...there is so much more to it.

To each their own. I enjoy the speed of the cars and the strategies involved in running a race. If you really wanted to pay attention and get to understand it a little bit better, you would find that it involves more than just going around in a circle 500 times.
Better yet, get inside of a race car at one of the driving experiences and see that it takes some tremendous ATHLETIC skill from the drivers to perform as they do.

think about it if you was in a Nascar race against 42 other drivers and fighting for the win it would be intense right?wrecks, speed attitude, impatience, money, positions whats not to love about Nascar just because there going around in circles it doesn't mean that its not exciting

What is the excitement of watching GOLF?What is the excitement of watching FOOTBALL?Or what is the excitement of watching the POKER GAMES?
They are competitions between man.We are such a society that competition is the relaxation for the everyday work-a-day human.
Personally I have followed NASCAR since 1960 and have been going to football games since 63.I still enjoy both becuse they are a competition.
