I will get married one day (if I ever find a really good man) and I was wondering if you really have to be a virgin to wear a white dress?

I don't know any that WERE virgins and they all wear white.

I have not once seen a woman marry without a white dress. Its just the wrinkled up fussy bitter old maids that say "Do you believe she had the NERVE to wear white!"

Humpt!

From what I've learned about the white wedding dress is this. A born again virgin and a physical virgin can wear white on the big day. God looks at the heart. If you are still a virgin stay that way if you can. Hope this helps.

How many non-white Wedding dresses have you seen? Do you think all those white wedding dresses were worn only by virgins?...
I don't think so.
In effect, unless you are trying to make some kind of fashion statement or feel like putting your private life out there in front of everyone, just wear white.

Well you are suppose to be as the white symbolizes you purity. Nowadays though I have seen woman get married in a white dress even though they have been married before and had children. When you do find Mr. Right, wait, make sure he is, Then have the wedding of your dreams and don't let anyone tell you what to wear and what not to. It's your moment and you will regret if you do it any other way. take it from me.

I think wearing a white dress is more of a tradition these days. I know plenty of friends of mine who got married in a white dress and they were far from virgins.

That's really up to you.

You could wear high heels and overalls to your wedding if you want to.

The whole white signifying virginity or purity thing, I would say, is pretty much out the window these days.

Sweetie, lots of non virgins wear white dresses. The ones that really amaze me are when its a second marriage. I look at that white dress and think...TACKY. As a matter of fact, when the preacher said, do you take this man, it was all I could do not to yell out "She already has!"

No, my cousin has been married a few times & has worn white each time eve though she had children with each of her first two husbands. White is a symbol of purity/chasteness, but can be viewed as a symbol of pure & honest love rather than virginity.
