This is really common. Your baby is dropping although it will drop more. Your Braxton Hicks are also increasing and while painless for some people your tummy will get very tight. Those are all good signs. You are full term but full term is 37 to 42 weeks so expect a bit longer. Your body is doing everything it needs to do to get this baby where it needs to be. Try and relax. When it is the real thing it will get longer, stronger and closer together. When you have a hard time talking or breathing through them and they are quite painful and close together, then it is time to go in. In the meantime. Have a nice warm bath, get your hubby to give you a massage. You are doing great and I'm sure your baby will be here in a few weeks.

I started feeling this around 31 weeks. I have been admitted to the hospital 4 times since then so they could stop labor. I am 36 weeks now so they wont stop it this time. It can be scary! When you do go into labor my doc. told me that the contractions will be so hard that you cant talk, walk or breath. I've been there twice before but they stoped it for me. With your first pregnancy my doc. told me that your baby can drop anywhere from 2-4 weeks before you go into labor. This is also my first so I have asked a lot of questions..lol. It is very uncomfortable when you have a contraction but be sure to time them if they get 5 min apart and last around 60 sec then you should probably go to the hospital to be sure..you dont want to have the baby at home. I hope that everything goes well for you and you have a quick labor. Congrats and good luck!

These contractions are probably Braxton Hicks and can be quite uncomfortable. But they are necessary for your body to prepare for labor. About baby moving around. You have to remember there is a lot less room in there and baby is a lot bigger. You might want to ask you doctor to estimate the size of your baby. If you are a small woman and you have a large baby it may be a good idea to induce. My sister is 5'1" and weighted 100 lbs. before baby and she spent 6 hours trying to push a 9 lb. baby out. So depending on your size that can be important. Good luck and God Bless!

Sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions.Baby can go up and down for weeks like that. No one can give you a true answer on how long it will take for labor to begin for you. Unfortunately- this comes with the territory. On the up side, there's only 2 weeks left typically. :)

yes.... when your stomach gets tight it's when a contraction is happening.. but don't worry.. that's normal... they are call Braxton Hicks contractions ....
best you can do is take a shower to relax your muscles....when real labor start... you are going to feel pain right at the end of your vertical column.... and feel like you are having cramps... at the same time... not just tight stomach.....now.. just relax... and don't worry everything will be OK...

the tightening is braxton hicks contractions most likely, thats just your body preparing for labor. you might have them most of the day at this point in your pregnancy.. eventually they will come with pain that will gradually get worse, and then you know you're in labor ;)

I'll tell you something. If you get that strong urge to clean and can't stop, you'll have that baby in a couple days or so. We women go through what they call nesting, or a sudden burst of energy.

The baby could be preparing for delivery...positioning itself...turning. If you find that you are too uncomfortable go to the Doc. tonight...to make sure the baby isn't under any stress. Better to be safe.
