With all the straight women in the gay bar, it makes it so difficult for a lesbian to find a "girlfriend". Hitting on a straight girl just pisses her off.... but then again, shouldn't she expect it???

some friends of mine also like to go to gaybars, but they are straight. They just like to be there cause of the great sphere. They told me they can be themselves and they like that. I agree, it is hard for us to pick up a girl, when you finally have the brave to ask, and hear she is straight

Here's my tip for picking out the straight women in bars from the ones I want to date (ready?):
I always put on my strap-on dildo before going out to bars, that way the straight women will naturally move away from me and the lesbians will not. They won't come TOWARDS you mind you but, hey, dating is hard and at least you scared away the sissies (no, not the gay men in the bar, I mean the straight women silly!).

First of all, if a straight girl gets pissed about being hit on, you should feel more than free to tear her a new one; if she doesn't like it she can leave. That's OUR space, and if they want to visit, then they can deal with it.
As for the influx of straight people in gay bars...it starts with a bar that's primarily for gay men. Straight girls go to dance and not get hit on. Some of them enjoy it enough to force their boyfriends to go, and then there's an all out hetero-fest in our bars. I'm a total advocate of the Queer Nation Rules for Straights in queer bars.

You could try to meet people at places other than bars... volunteer at gay lesbian orgs.

Yeah, I agree that it's annoying. I just hit on them anyway. If they get upset, I remind them where they are.
