I know it's next to impossible.

But with our starting pitching we could surprize everyone.

I am not saying it will happen, just saying it could.

Go ahead Yankees fans, hit me with your best shot.

Regardless of what happens I remain a loyal and true and proud fan of The Detroit Tigers!

Georgie
Georgie
Georgie
You know who's going to win.
You know who I want to win.
Sound familiar? : )

1st of all :
The Tigers starting pitching is awesome! We all know that.
As a matter of fact, I think the entire team is one of the best ever!
Leyland has worked wonders with that team and whatever happens
in the postseason, they should be proud of what they've accomplished.
Heck, no one even expected them to be IN the postseason,
much less have a real shot at the WS!
If the Tiggs happen to take this series,
at least the Yankees would lose to a deserving team.
Either way, I'm glad you're proud of your team! Actually, so am I. : )

However, being a Yankee fan, I'm not allowed to say
the Tigers could beat my Yankees,
but I'm glad you said it because it could very well happen.

Now for the hurtin': Ok, here goes, and remember, you asked for it buddy!
With NYY's starters, closer (Sandman), and the entire lineup they've got, I think they're absolutely the best team EVER!
I won't give you hives by naming all the extraordinary players on the Yankees, but let's just say the postseason roster is an all-star lineup like we haven't seen in a while! And they'll prove it this week.
I'm sorry it has to be the Tigers,
but it's better to get the toughest team out of the way first.
Now having said that : GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!
You're going down, Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you know, the Tigers have been up and down all season long.

If the good Tigers team shows up, it'll be a tough series that'll be decided in the end. Especially with Randy Johnson injured and some of the Yankees starters just coming back from major injuries.

But, if the bad Tigers team shows up, there is no chance. I am talking about that Tigers team that blew the 10 game lead. The one with the horrible losing streak at the end of the season. If that team comes, then it could be a sweep for the Yankees.

In baseball history tends to repeat itself and the Yankees have out hit, out pitched, and out played the Tigers all season. Verlander is a flame thrower but the Yankees counter that with guys like Gary Sheffield who can hit a bullet. They are going to be good games but the Yankees will come out on top because of the strengths and weaknesses of both teams.

I feel that Detroit does have a chance to beat the yank's, but the biggest problem they are facing is its a best of 5, and lets face it NY only has 3 pitchers the rest of the world gives 2 cents about, Wang, Johnson, and Mussina. If those three get it done, it will be a short showing by Detroit. But if any of them flutter this is going to 5 at which point its any ones series.
But I think the twins will make it to the WS so don't worry your self :-)

The only way to beat that line-up is with starting pitching. There are only two pitchers you need to beat Wong, Wang??? And the Moose beat the Yankees one game at their field you can beat them at hime hard ******** games I want the Tigers to beat the Yankees cause the Twins have a better chance of taking the Tigers than the Yankees. And, amen stay true to your team no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!

sure, i became into chuffed that the Tigers gained and since the ny Yankees are out of the postseason, the international sequence could have a clean champion this year; the Detroit Tigers, Oakland Athletics, ny Mets and the St. Louis Cardinals.

This is the scenario we Tigers fans have dreaded, but I'll be Pollyanna and say why can't they? The Yankees are the overwhelming favorite, but how many other teams in the supposed-to-win position have blown it sky high? We already had two this year in Detroit alone (Pistons, Red Wings).

they can if their pitchers pitch at top form and their bullpen comes through. also, ordonez needs to get help from granderson, casey, pudge, and inge! they have an uphill fight because the yankee lineup is unbelievable. however, their bats have gone to sleep at times this year and their pitching has shown some weakness at times. if wang loses the first game at yankee stadium then there could be an upset. don't count the tigers out yet. it's baseball and anything can happen!!!

It happend Georgie, its not the Twins going to NY first. So we'll see you in round 2. Of course the Tigs can beat NY. Tampa Bay beat them more often than not this year. They had a lot of trouble with Toronto also. Look how many times they have been beaten by TB so its definatly possible.
