Yes, sometimes it is very hard to concentrate.
Also, be prepared for getting sleepy very early. Even if you go to bed normally as early as 10:00, you could start nodding off while watching your favorite tv show, or doing your college homework as early as 7:00.
As far as concentrating on things, try to think about relaxing. I know it sounds kinda stupid, but it's true. If your relaxed, then you can concentrate on your surroundings better. Which means that you can concentrate on the things that you need to. Also, try to eat more, sometimes if you eat a little bit more it can help you to focus.
Also, something I just thought of, sometimes during pregnancy you can develop Gestational Diabetes. I think the normal time for testing that is 13 weeks, depending on when your check-up appointments are scheduled. What I'm saying is the the diabetes can make you not be able to concentrate. If you doctor hasn't offered to do the test, then ask for it. Most all doctors would offer it though. All you have to do is drink this VERY sugary drink, and then wait awhile, and have blood taken. From the blood that is taken, they can tell if you have the gestational diabetes or not. Hopefully you won't have it, but if you do I would be glad to talk to you about it. I have alot of experience with it. Email me sometime at : yoshi22rocker@yahoo.com
Good luck with college, and especially with your new baby!
God Bless!
Hope I helped.

LOL yes its very normal. I was in school my first trimester and working as a telemarketer ( i know everyone hates them..lol) and I could barely stay awake on the phone. I remember one time I feel asleep when I was talking to this old man, he just wanted someone to talk to so he kept going on and on. I woke up when he said "Hello, hello are you there" lol it was funny. Yeah its just the pregnancy making you tired. Try to rest more than you are now..take a power nap or something. Congrats on being pregnant and I hope that everything works out well for you!

YES! It's completely normal and all the moms I hang out with joke about it all the time! Like being in a pregnancy fog! It's due to those wonderful hormones raging through your body. Just gut it out- it goes away after the baby is born- then you just have the I haven't slept in days brain fog thing going on. But so worth it! Hang in there!

You should absolutely expect to be tired and unable to concentrate unless you start taking care of yourself. Your body is telling you to slow down because it is busy doing a very important job - nourishing your baby. You need to be taking pre-natal vitamins if you are not already doing so, and resting when your body tells you it's tired. Your body will take what it needs for the baby and that will leave you shortchanged, anemic and foggy headed if you don't take care of yourself. You cannot run around on empty like you used to. Be kind to yourself. You are nourishing for two and nature will take from you to provide for the baby - that is a biological fact.

Oh heavens yes. My daughter is 23 weeks and she can't remember a thing and hasn't been able to since she was about 6 weeks along. I try to tell her to bring something to my house when she drops off her other two in the mornings and she just tells me to call her at 7:30 in the morning.
She can't remember where she put her cell phone or her car keys. she is having a heck of a time.

OMG it is like I loose my mind when I am pregnant!!!!! LOL
With my last, I locked my keys in my van about 25 times. It was terrible!
I am now 11 weeks and same thing. I am forgetting really important things, and totally absentminded.
It is totally normal. Your baby takes over even before it is out!

Hang in there. It is believed to be caused by hormone shifts.
